What this service offers

Our Psychology in Schools service offers the following:

  • Assessment appointments and liaison with local services. Students who staff have significant mental health concerns about receive an assessment. This is with their parents, to establish the nature and extent of their difficulties. We consider whether a school based intervention is appropriate or if the student needs a referral for specialist input.
  • PSHE/Curriculum Development. The clinicians support the development of each school’s curriculum. This enables a whole school approach to learning about emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • The leadership team get involved with the development and implementation of the program.
  • Parents/Carers: We involve parents in workshops on the key areas of concern. Parents get easy to specialist support when meeting with a clinician at school.
  • Providing primary schools with half-term 2-hour training slots for their Teaching Assistants. The training program receives good outcomes and positive feedback.
