Service User and Carer Council

As part of our commitment to long term improvement, we are establishing our Trust-wide Service User and Carer Council; a multidisciplinary advisory and action focused forum that places our service users, families and carers at its heart.

The Council's mission is to ensure that service users and carers are central to all our activities at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust through high-quality involvement and engagement.

The Council will be comprise of Service Users and Carers with lived experience of accessing or supporting others who access mental health services in Norfolk and Suffolk,  to be meaningfully involved in discussions around quality, experience, and service monitoring or improvement.

As we integrate our new Future Leadership Structure to improve quality, safety and experience across NSFT, we will also develop Locality Councils. These Councils will be ‘place-based’, which means they will operate as an advisory and action forum for service users, families and carers in their local area.

Tell us what you think

In establishing our Council, we would like to hear from you what you think the Council's key priorities and goals should be, and how best we can support those in joining the Council as a member.

You can choose to leave your feedback with us using our online form.

To support you with this, we have included our Service User and Carer Council Engagement Pack [pdf] 2MB  document to provide you with an overview of the Councils.
