A new Electronic Patient Record (EPR)

We have set four Trust-wide strategic priorities to help us to deliver safer, kinder and better care to local people. They are:

  • Improving Health
  • Improving Care
  • Improving Culture
  • Improving Value

Each of these priorities is supported by three large-scale change programmes. For improving value, one of these change programmes is about digital development and this includes replacing our electronic patient record (EPR) system.

An EPR is a digital platform that brings your patient information, including your medical history, treatments and medications relevant to your care provided by our Trust - together in one place. Lorenzo is our current EPR and was introduced in May 2015. It helped us transform how we work as a Trust by digitising our paper-based records to make them more accessible and secure.

We now have another opportunity to improve how we deliver our services, supported by a more modern digital platform. Our EPR journey will unfold over the next couple of years with collaboration from staff and service users and carers. Work will continue to update our current EPR while we work together to replace it with a new more efficient and effective system for mental health needs.

This is a significant change programme that we are dedicated to getting right as it will ultimately enable us to deliver safer, kinder and better care.
