ARFID Professional Consultation Request Form

The Suffolk CFYP (Child, Family & Young Person) ARFID Team provide specialist consultation to health and social care professionals seeking advice, guidance, and support with intervention planning for children and young with avoidant and/or restrictive eating.
When to use our consultation service
- Our professional consultation offer is appropriate to professionals who are:
- Seeking advice on appropriate resources and services for CYP under their care with some component of avoidant / restrictive eating.
- Evaluating whether a potential referral meets diagnostic criteria for ARFID.
- Seeking support with understanding which service(s) may best meet the needs of a child with a sub-clinical or atypical presentation.
- Collaborating in the care planning, intervention and/or clinical management for a child or young person diagnosed with ARFID.
What to expect
Upon submission, your Consultation Request Form will be automatically forwarded to the SCFYP ARFID Team electronic mailbox. Your request for consultation will be logged and an initial contact – via your preferred method – made within 2-3 working days. A date, time, and medium for the clinical conversation with our ARFID Specialist Team will then be agreed. We are committed to providing professional consultation within 14 working days of submission.
Please note, use of this form is for professional consultation requests only. The SCFYP ARFID Team is not yet open to referral for specialist assessment (expected early 2025).
