Learning disability nurse Una Chirisa was named “star baker” at a special meet and greet event to mark Learning Disability week.

The LD Bake Off competition for staff at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, was part of an afternoon date to showcase the work of learning disability and autism teams in Norfolk and Suffolk.

NSFT's Capital Team has been named Estates and Facilities Team of the year at the Design in Mental Health Awards, held in Coventry. The award means national recognition for a year of hard work, determination and commitment to providing safe, secure and therapeutic spaces for service users.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s (NSFT) Recovery College is launching a new programme of community walking groups to support mental health and wellbeing across the region.

‘Steps for Support’ offers free, inclusive walks designed to help people improve both their mental and physical health in a relaxed and supportive environment. The groups provide a safe, low-pressure opportunity to connect with others, where participants can chat or simply be around people.

Carers and families visited the Forum in Norwich to find out about support offered to them and the people they care for. The annual Carers Information Day on Monday 8 June during Carers Week (8-14) June was organised by Care for Carers in partnership with Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) and saw 46 stands showcasing their offers.

The experience and knowledge of two staff members from Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) has been included in the first textbook dedicated specifically to advanced practice in mental health.

The book, ‘The Advanced Practitioner in Mental Health’ was edited by Clare Allabyrne and published in April. It will be a key resource for advanced practitioners, students, apprentices, clinical leaders and educators, and will be widely used across universities and healthcare courses to support the development of advanced mental health roles.
