Here are some key resources and local services to support parents and families with wellbeing and mental health which cover a whole host of topic areas:    

  • Visit the MindEd For Families website for support and education for family carers of children and young people who may have some concerns about a young person’s mental health or wellbeing. Visit: https://www.mindedforfamilies.org.uk/young-people/about-us/  
  • Visit the YoungMinds general website which is a mental health charity for children and young people in the UK. Visit: YoungMinds | Mental Health Charity For Children And Young People | YoungMinds    
  • Call the YoungMinds parent helpline on 0808 802 5544 (9am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday)
  • Visit the Suffolk Family Carers website for information, advice and support for family carers living in Suffolk. Visit www.suffolkfamilycarers.org   or call 01473 835477 (Weekdays: 8am – 6.30pm)   
  • Find out about the Suffolk Parent Carer Forum (SPCF) who are a group of parent carers who aim to ensure that the voices of parent carers in Suffolk voices are heard and that they contribute towards developing and improving services.   • Find out about Homestart who offer informal, friendly family support for families with children under 12 years. Visit: Home-Start in Suffolk | Home-Start UK   
  • Find out about Epic Dad who are a community interest company with a focus on supporting fathers, father figures and families. Visit:  EPIC Dad – Fathers and Families Project to find out more about the social events, wellbeing walks, online courses and resources around wellbeing and parenting that this service offers.     
  • Find out the Parents and Carers Together (PACT) service in Suffolk who offer support (face to face meetups, online and offer an outreach 1:1 service), training (including youth mental health first aid and parent guided Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy) and tools/resources to help both parents/carers wellbeing and via them, their child/young person too.
