The Adult Community Mental Health Service delivers a secondary care mental health service for adults between the ages of 25 and 75. Our team provides a service for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. It offers a range of specialist, evidence-based treatments and interventions. We have Adult Community Mental Health Service teams across Norfolk. They cover North Norfolk and Norwich City.

What this service offers
The Adult Community Mental Health Service delivers treatments and interventions in many ways. This includes group sessions and 1 to 1 discussions.
Services are delivered by a range of mental health professionals. This includes doctors, nurses, assistant practitioners, clinical support staff and peer support staff.
The Adult Community Mental Health Service also offers service users advice and guidance with a recovery-focused approach.
Access this service
Referrals to our Adult Community Mental Health Service are accepted from healthcare professionals, including GPs and other mental health teams and services.
People who wish to use this service should visit their GP to discuss a referral. Or if they are currently involved with another mental health professional, they should speak to them about a referral.
How this service support carers including friends and family
Our Adult Community Mental Health Service staff are trained to work with carers to support the the recovery of the people who use our services.
Urgent help
If you are a service user and are in crisis and need support urgently you can contact your service on the number which will have been provided.
Call 111 and select the mental health option to speak to our 24 hour mental health crisis line.
If you are with someone who has attempted suicide, call 999 and stay with them until the ambulance arrives.
If anyone is at serious risk of harm, call 999 and ask for the police.
