Single Point of Access Team – Central and West Norfolk

  • The Single Point of Access is a team of administrators who receive, check and process commissioned referrals. The team signpost referrals to the relevant service line.

What this service offers

The Single Point of Access Team receives telephone queries from referrers, family members and service users. Where necessary the SPOA administrators will transfer these calls to the relevant clinical teams and services for further support and guidance.

The team is not clinical and does not offer treatments.

Access this service

On receipt of a referral the team process it and pass on to the appropriate service.

Anyone who has an enquiry about where their referral is can contact the team by telephone on 0300 790 0371.

If someone already has a named professional involved in their care, they can telephone them direct. This is also the case if they are aware of the service line they receive care from.

How this service support carers including friends and family

The Single Point of Access Team are happy to talk to carers, friends and family. This is to provide advice or to share information to support the care of the service user. The team does need the consent of the person using our service in these instances.

Urgent help

If you already have a named professional involved in your care and need urgent help you can telephone them direct. This is also the case if you are aware of the service line you receive care from.

Call 111 and select the mental health option to speak to our 24 hour mental health crisis line.

If you are with someone who has attempted suicide, call 999 and stay with them until the ambulance arrives. 

If anyone is at serious risk of harm, call 999 and ask for the police. 

For non-life threatening medical situations, call NHS111 on 111.
