What do you do if you want an autism assessment?

If you are 11 to 17 years old and want an autism assessment, you (or your parent or carer) need to speak to your GP or another professional. This could be a school nurse, social worker or other health professionals like a speech and language therapist (SLT).

A referral can be made if you, and the professional you speak to, agree an autism assessment is needed.

Further information and referral forms can be found at Suffolk Infolink | Improvements to East and West Suffolk Neurodevelopmental Pathway

What happens after referral?

When your referral is received, the information is looked at carefully.

If the information indicates another reason that would better explain your differences, that is not autism, you may be referred to another service for support. An outcome letter will be sent to you.
