An event at the Forum in Norwich to showcase help and information available to carers has been hailed a success by organisers and those who came along.

On Wednesday last week, I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to lead our first safer, kinder and better leadership conference in Norwich.  

Carers will have the chance to find out about what support is on offer to them at a special event in Norwich for Carers Week 2024.

The last couple of weeks have continued to be very busy with lots of joint work with system partners, leading the continued development of our improvement programme and continuing to listen to the voice of service users, carers and families.

As always, I want to share a few updates from my perspective and will align these to our four Trust wide priorities, improving health, improving care, improving culture and improving value.

People with lived experience of Learning Disabilities (LD) and Autism organised an Open Day at Walker Close in Suffolk last week to show how they support the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) care teams.

A pioneering music project to help people with dementia is being promoted by NSFT, which helped support its development.

The importance of connecting with local communities was highlighted by a mental health governor after attending a music event in Wroxham on Sunday.

This week, my blog broadly focuses on the importance of networking, sharing ideas and raising awareness of what we are doing, why we are doing these things and the impact we need to see as a result us working differently with our service users, families, carers and our partners across Norfolk and Suffolk.

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is encouraging everyone to move to improve how they feel, and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) has events organised to encourage people to join in.
