Eric Crossfield – Public Governor, Suffolk
Term of office started 1 February 2025
My simple and passionate goal is to use my skills and experience to help improve the wellbeing of others. This includes service users, families and carers, staff and the communities the Trust serves.
My experience in this work is wide ranging. During and after the pandemic I was Lead Governor of Camden and Islington Foundation Trust, which recently merged as North London Mental Health Foundation Trust. I then moved to Suffolk where I work in semi-retirement.
I am a Patient and Public Voice (PPV) member for NHS England Armed Forces team. We co-produced ‘Op Courage’ – the Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing service. I was a Royal Navy officer with lived experience of Complex PTSD. Thankfully I received superb treatment and now use my time and efforts to pay this back for others in need.
I speak truth to power robustly as a critical and constructive friend, ensuring positive outcomes and progress for all stakeholders. I am compassionate, kind, a good communicator and a powerful advocate for improving mental health for us all.
