Dinah Morley - Public Governor, Suffolk
Term of office started 1 February 2022
I have a background in social services, health and education. This is in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. I am particularly interested in children's mental health. But I have worked in mental health across all age groups. I have been a member of the Trust for four years.
I have been in Suffolk for 20 years. Some of that time I lived partly in London, where my children and grandchildren live. There I was a governor at the East London NHS Foundation Trust. I am a lay member of an Adoption Panel and have contributed to books on mental health and ethnicity.
I am a trustee of The Pear Tree Fund. This charity, based in Halesworth, supports people with life limiting conditions. I am also a trustee of People in Harmony, a charity which supports people of mixed race and mixed families. My PhD looked at the mental health of mixed race young people.
I am keen to ensure that the Trust reaches out to people from minority communities and provides accessible services.
