Wellbeing Norfolk and Waveney are the new shirt sponsor for Match of the Dads, 5 a side football league based in Norwich.

Match of the Dads started with 12 unhappy, unhealthy, socially frustrated Dads meeting up on a Monday night to have a kick about.

There are now over 180 Dads who play football and socialise every week. The Dads have raised thousands of pounds for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) - a male mental health awareness and suicide prevention charity.

Wellbeing Norfolk and Waveney will be sponsoring the home shirts and will offer support to the group through access to social events, and workshops.

Kelvin Colbourn works for the Wellbeing service but is also a player for ‘Dadenham’, one of the teams in the group. He said

“I was made aware of the group after attending a Mental Health Event and was interested in what they offered. After talking to them, I was so impressed by not only the organisation, but the support available that I then signed up!

"We are very excited that the organisers were only too happy to help set up this partnership.”

Adam Kemp, who is Chief Operations Officer for Match of the Dads, said:

“I’m pleased and proud that we are able to unveil this exciting partnership with the Wellbeing Service. To be able to offer professional help to our members is a big step forward. Together we can continue to help raise awareness of male mental health and provide help for those that need it.”

The Wellbeing Service are currently running a campaign that encourages people to ‘Reach Out’, and get support.  If you need support for common mental health and emotional issues, such as low mood, depression or stress please visit www.wellbeingnands.co.uk or call 0300 123 1503
