Improving Together: A new year with real opportunity - CEO Caroline Donovan's Blog - 2 January

Hello everyone, I hope this blog finds you well.

I want to begin this blog with a massive ‘thank you’ for everyone’s efforts over the extended Christmas weekend. You made an enormous difference to our capability, capacity and responsiveness for our service users. Bank holidays are always difficult, and this year was no different, but we maintained flow and were able to support people with great teamwork.

On behalf of the Trust Board please know you are very much appreciated. I do hope that most of you managed to have some down time over the festive period and enjoyed yourselves too.

If you didn’t catch my message before Christmas, here is another opportunity to see the end of year celebration film that showed some of the achievements during the year and most importantly said thank you to each and every one of you for all you have done.  You can see it here.

So here we are, 2024. A new year with real opportunity and hope ahead. Together, we will establish a safer, kinder and better organisation for the benefit of our service users and carers, our colleagues and our communities. I have had lots of conversations over the holiday period with people who are interested in applying for the Listening into Action lead roles and I have been blown away with the amazing talent and enthusiasm of everyone I have met – we really are so lucky to have some amazing staff.

Our focus for 2024 will continue to be on improving health, improving quality, improving our organisational culture and improving value. I am excited about the journey ahead and really look forward to working alongside you as we continue our improvement journey.

Let me take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you reading this, a happy, healthy and successful new year. I very much look forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes, until next time

Caroline.
