Diane Hull appointed to leading role at Nottinghamshire Healthcare

Diane Hull, Chief Nurse, NSFT

NSFT’s Chief Nurse is leaving the organisation after securing a new role with one of the largest mental health, learning disability and community trusts.

Diane Hull, who joined NSFT in November 2018, has been appointed the new Executive Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Quality at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – a Trust with over 9,000 staff providing integrated healthcare services from over 257 locations including two secure units, healthcare in prisons across the East Midlands, and specialist services nationally.

Stuart Richardson, Chief Executive of NSFT, said: “Diane has made a very significant contribution to the Trust and our improvement work and brought energy, focus and a passion for improving people’s experience of our services and our organisation in everything she has done.

“She has provided outstanding leadership to steer our patient safety agenda, and has dramatically improved the way we support, learn from and involve the people who use our services and their families and carers. Di has developed strong and trusted relationships across the organisation and with our partners including our regulators. She has also been responsible for leading the Trust’s preparation for CQC inspections, which saw 60% of our services inspected rated ‘good’ in our latest report published in February 2023.

“Di represents the very best of NHS leadership and the nursing profession and we are lucky to have benefited from her experience, kindness and compassion.

“While we are of course sad to see Di go, that sadness is eased with the pride of knowing that her immense talent has been recognised by our friends in Nottinghamshire.”

Diane, a mental health nurse by profession, said: “I have loved being part of NSFT. It has been an absolute honour to have worked with so many dedicated and caring people who are committed to improving services for those people who need us.

“We care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society and I never lose sight of what a huge responsibility and privilege that is. I, for one, couldn’t be prouder to be a mental health nurse.

“I’m sad to be leaving my friends and colleagues at NSFT and incredibly proud of all that we have achieved together, through some of the most challenging years the NHS has ever known with the pandemic.

“I have every confidence that NSFT has turned a corner and will continue to go from strength to strength. There will always be a very special place in my heart for NSFT and I look forward to seeing the Trust progress in the next exciting phase of its improvement journey.”
