NSFT invites Norfolk and Suffolk to its AMM and AGM

Service users, families, carers and members of the public are warmly invited to join Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s (NSFT) Chair and Executive team for the Trust’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) on Tuesday, 7 November 2023.

The event, which will run from 12:00 to 4pm at The Mix, 127 Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, IP14 1BB is also open to organisations across the two counties that have an interest in mental health.

The meeting is an opportunity to hear Chair Zoë Billingham and the Trust’s Executive Team talk about the improvements NSFT has made and the Trust’s priorities as it works towards consistently delivering excellent care for the people who need specialist mental health and learning disability services. There will also be opportunities to meet teams and ask questions.

NSFT staff will be on hand to talk about projects and services, including the Lighthouse Centre in Norwich which supports young people under the age of 18 diagnosed with an eating disorder, and the multi-million-pound Rivers Centre inpatient development at the Hellesdon Hospital site in Norwich.

Information will also be available about:

  • free education workshops and courses available through NSFT’s Recovery College, which empower people aged 16 and over to become experts in their own mental health recovery
  • support available to carers via the Stepping Back Safely project which helps to keep the people they look after safe by managing the risk of suicide or serious self-harm
  • how the Trust is involving young service users in shaping future services through an initiative called Particip8
  • specialist training which is improving the support and experiences of people with personality disorder.

Those attending will also be able to find out about the benefits of becoming a member of the Trust, and information about standing as a Trust governor.

Zoë said: “Everyone is welcome to join us for this event which provides another opportunity for us to engage with those who need our services as well as our members and local communities.

"It’s an important moment in the calendar where we have the opportunity to discuss our progress over the last year, our priorities for the future, as well as showcasing some of our incredible services. I look forward to welcoming those who are able to join us.”
