Charlie Mackesy shares a story of hope through artwork at specialist school in Lowestoft

The Horizon School Dragonfly and NSFT People Participation Team for Specialist Services based at The Dragonfly Unit in Lowestoft were very excited to welcome Charlie Mackesy, local illustrator, and author of 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' on Sunday 14 November.

Generously Charlie had volunteered his time to come into the school and draw over twenty images and quotes that can be seen along the school's main corridor.

A connection was made, when Charlie found out that a school group within the Horizon School Dragonfly was named after him by the students due to the positive impact his artwork had and continues to have on their wellbeing and recovery.

The artwork tells a story of hope, strength, kindness, and love.

Special thanks to Charlie Mackesy, Elizabeth Bennett, Louise Weddle and Barney (Charlie's dog) for organising such a beautiful piece of community work.
