MP Peter Aldous *UPDATE* - Following the sad death of Her Majesty The Queen on 8 September this event has been cancelled.

fete to celebrate “caring together” will be held by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust next week at Carlton Court.

The event will be opened by local MP Peter Aldous (pictured) at 11am on Saturday 10 September and will run until 4pm, with stalls, entertainment, food, music, attractions and ice cream.

It will be open to service users, staff, families and friends as well as the public and will be raising money for young carers.

Sarah Nichols, environmental site lead and quality improvement lead for the six Great Yarmouth and Waveney older people’s inpatient wards, said: “This will be a great opportunity to bring people together to enjoy a fun day out, and learn more about our staff and carers networks.”

Music will be from Travel Back, with hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Sarah said: “Singer Hank BeMarvin, of Travel Back, is popular locally so we are hoping his music will draw in the crowds.”

Carers lead and chair of the carers’ network Howard Tidman said: “We wanted to show that working and caring together is part of our everyday life. Young carers play a big part of that.

“Any money raised will go towards paying for a residential event for young carers in 2023 for our ever-popular ‘reach for the skies’ event.”
