SIM service paused in Suffolk

In 2019, the Suffolk system agreed to pilot Serenity Integrated Mentoring (SIM) in Suffolk. In Suffolk it is known as the joint engagement team (JET).

This is an approach of service users working with mental health services and Police to improve their safety plan.

In recent weeks there has been concerns expressed regarding this approach nationally and locally.

Due to the concerns, we have paused the pilot. This means no new service users are being accepted, and all service users currently using JET will have an opportunity to share their experiences one to one or to join our Open Forums to talk about Joint Engagement Team (JET).

We are also working to review the model and consider a way forward. This review will involve our People Participation leads and ensure the voice of services users are part of the review.
