Fun day to celebrate ‘caring together’

Entertainer Olly Day will open a fete at Hellesdon next week which has been organised by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust to celebrate “caring together”.
The singer, comedian and magician will do the honours at 11am on Saturday 3 September before staying to chat to service users, staff and visitors.
The event will include attractions, entertainment, music, cooking, food and competitions and will be open to the public. It will run until 4pm.
Music will include the Black Dog Project, a consortium of musicians who have all suffered with mental health issues. There will also be tunes from Norfolk Steel Band.
The event has been organised by the staff networks at the mental health trust with the theme “we care together”. It will raise money for young carers.
Carers lead and chair of the carers’ network Howard Tidman said: “We wanted to show that working and caring together is part of our everyday life. Young carers play a big part of that.
"Any money raised will go towards paying for a residential event for young carers in 2023 for our ever-popular ‘reach for the skies’ event.
“We want this to be a happy and inclusive occasions for everyone as well as a fun day out.”
Attractions will include a bouncy assault course, miniature ponies, and art show and competition, cakes and a barbecue.
The public are invited to come along for free on the day.
