Become a Governor and help shape mental health services in Norfolk and Suffolk

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) has an exciting opportunity for five people with an interest in mental health to join the Council of Governors.

Jean Clark (pictured), Trust Secretary, said: "Our Governors play a vital role at NSFT by representing the views of local people, hosting important public engagement events and holding the Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board.

"Elected Governors come from all walks of life and share an interest in mental wellbeing and a desire to help the Trust to develop and thrive for the benefit of the people who use our services.

"We would encourage anyone who thinks they have the time, skills and commitment to carry out this important role to come along to one of our information sessions and find out more."

The seats open for election this time around are: three Public Governors in Norfolk, one Public Governor in Suffolk and one Carer Governor in Norfolk.

The Council of Governors is made up of the Trust Chair, 23 elected Governors across its six constituencies, with Governors holding a three-year tenure, and six appointed Governors.

The Trust is holding information sessions via MS Teams for anyone interested in standing for election:

7 October, 6.30pm – 7.30pm

9 October, 3pm – 4pm

12 October, 6.30pm – 7.30pm

14 October, 10.30pm – 11.30pm

To book a place, contact Nicky Southgate at governors@nsft.nhs.uk, or call 01603 421291. If you are interested but unable to attend, contact Nicky to arrange an informal discussion.
